All you need to know about game drives!
The best time for game drives is typically during the early morning and late afternoon, as animals are generally more active during these cooler hours.
Game drives usually last around 3-4 hours, but full-day drives with a picnic lunch can also be arranged.
During a game drive, you can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species.
The current park fees for the Mara Triangle are $80 per adult and $45 per child, valid for 24 hours. These fees are not compulsory and are only required if you go on a game drive in the Mara Triangle or participate in a hot air balloon safari.
Age restrictions vary, but generally, children aged six and above are allowed on game drives. It is best to check with the camp directly for their specific policies.
We don't have fixed schedules, and the program for the next day will be discussed with your guides. Here's a tentative plan if you arrive by plane:
On your arrival day, assuming you arrive in the morning (flight departs 9:30 and arrives 10:30 or departs 10:00 and arrives 11:00), we will pick you up and transfer you to the camp. After check-in and briefing, you'll have lunch. Afternoon game drives start around 3:00 pm/3:30 pm, and you'll return to the camp early in the evening. Everyone must exit the Mara Triangle/official game drive reserve by 6:30 pm, as game drives are not allowed from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am.
The next day, you can choose a full day game drive with a packed picnic lunch or an early morning game drive. We also organize bush breakfasts. For early game drives, you'll leave the camp around 6:10/6:30 am after having coffee/tea and homemade biscuits/cakes, returning around 9:30/10:00 am for breakfast. You'll go on an afternoon game drive later.
The program for the following day will be agreed upon and discussed with our manager and your guide the night before. You can also organize other activities such as guided walks/walking safaris, horse riding, school visits, spa treatments, massages, or hot bubble baths. You can also relax and enjoy our beautiful views.
These activities can be organized in advance or at the camp. We recommend letting us know in advance for smooth organization.
Wear comfortable clothing in neutral colors, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring warm clothes for cooler mornings and evenings, a light jacket, binoculars, and a camera.
Yes, you are encouraged to take photographs during game drives. Remember to be respectful of the wildlife and follow your guide's instructions.

There are no specific health requirements for game drives, but it's important to ensure you are in good physical condition and have all necessary vaccinations for travel to Kenya.
Game drives typically use open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles or closed vehicles with pop-up roofs, which offer excellent visibility and comfort while navigating the terrain.
